Service Description
Fire hot mmk. You’re going to need tools to hold onto your metal in the fire. Attend this class to learn the core essentials that all tongs are based on. We’ll be taking 1/2″ round bar and making a long handled pair of flat nib tongs. This class will teach you about the primary parts of a tong: The reigns, boss, and jaws. The hole punching and riveting skills learned in the LVL 2 will be expanded upon. This time we’ll be learning about how to hole punch and then prep the working surface to do the rivet in such a way as to promote minimal friction and maximize comfort for the user. Learning to make your own tongs will open a great many doors in the types of metal shapes you can work with. These skills are invaluable!
