About the event
Come as you would to your own meeting. Bring something for the meal and the Iron in the Hat raffle. And please be prepared to attempt the challenge of the
day. It's going to be making the punch/chisel rivet thing that was the challenge at the Madison conference, because we have left over materials.
To enhance the challenge and because we have more time, we're adding the chance to make the tongs you use for the challenge from EZ tong blanks we'll have on hand. We'll have tongs ready to use if you don't want to make your own. Feel free to try it as a team or on your own. The meal is going to be salad and sandwich type things brought by our members, so bring something you like and want to share. For the Iron in the Hat raffle, if you donate something you made yourself, you get free tickets, more if you bring multiple things or something especially difficult. I'm not sure if it will be free to get in the park or not. It's a minimal fee if you have to pay it. I'll be there for the whole weekend in case you want to camp a night or two. You have to pay for camping, but you can count on
spending the extra time in the blacksmith shop if you want to. I'm going to be camping at the park a lot of the weekends this summer and volunteering in the blacksmith shop, so contact me if you'd visit and participate.
One more thing, we're asking for donations to the gift shop of anything you've made or collected. We are donating them to the gift shop to sell as they see fit. They get to keep the money, but we can get recognition for our work and provide contact information at the display location. Unfortunately they won't accept weapons... sorry, bladesmiths.
If I've left anything out or you have any questions, you can contact me at 850-528-3280. I hope to see you there!
