Viking Era Lock
You've pillaged and plundered, now you need to keep your hard-earned fortunes secure.
Service Description
In this advanced class we will craft a traditional spring lock with a bit of a modern twist. In the interest of time (we have only 4 hours) instead of requiring you to make your own lock body we will use a piece of pipe. So, expect to use an angle grinder or hack saw to make some of the cuts in the pipe. We will also be using a section of 1-inch diameter steel rod that we will drill to accept a 1/4-inch rod to forge into and craft the bolt - again not traditional but expedient. You will forge the hasp and the key. Plan to use a torch to braze in the spring. Traditions Workshop will be supplying a couple of specialty tools, like a square punch, that will be for sale after the class.
