Learn about what the words: annealed, normalized, hardened, and tempered actually mean. (Trigger warning!!!) Taking this class may have the potential side effect of causing you endless annoyance from listening to people misuse these words for the rest of your natural life. You were warned. You will be taught to forge a punch or a cold chisel without causing it structural damage and then heat treat it. This class will provide informational hand outs that you can keep. If this stuff has always sounded like Greek to you then this is the class to make it clear. There are many alloys that can be made with wildly varying strengths based on which additives have been blended into the metal. In this class you will learn about many of the common alloys and how they differ in heat treatment and use.
